Villa Sansepolcro is located just 4 km from the Tuscan town of Sansepolcro, along the borders of Umbria and Marche. Sansepolcro is the birthplace of Piero della Francesca, the famous Italian Renaissance artist. Here you can find everything you need: shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, banks, post office...
Just 15-20 minutes drive from the villa, there is another small medieval town that is worthy of a visit: Anghiari. Protected by imposing thirteenth-century walls, the town still preserves the atmosphere and charm of small medieval towns. Here in 1440 took place the famous "Battle of Anghiari", where the Florentine troops defeated the Milan army, allowing Florence to take control on the city government. The famous Battle of Anghiari's fresco by Leonardo da Vinci, gone unfortunately lost, was commissioned just to honor this victory.
Near the villa there is also Arezzo and Città di Castello, another city still surrounded by the sixteenth century walls.
Other villages/cities to visit (about an hour away by car) are: the Tuscan Cortona and the Umbrian Perugia, Assisi and Gubbio.
The Tuscan art cities, such as Florence, Siena, Pisa and Lucca, are easily reachable by car.
Finally, for sports lovers we recommend to go to Lake Trasimeno (about an hour drive), where you can take boat trips or enjoy windsurfing or swimming, as well as soaking up the sun.

  • 5.0/5 Recently returned from a glorious relaxing week staying at Villa Sansepolcro with friends and family. The house is perfectly decorated with charm. Variety of places to sit comfortably inside, beds of good quality, clean and well presented. The kitchen is well equipped. There is good internet connection. Outside is glorious with amazing views. The infinity pool is just perfect. We had very long and fun filled lunches - even took to making our own pizzas buying local ingredients and authenticated it with using the amazing outside pizza oven! Great fun!
