Villa Ovest is located in a residential area at 2 km from Quercianella, a seaside resort in the province of Livorno, particularly recommended for all those who are passionate about scuba-diving and snorkeling.
Shops and restaurants cannot be reachable on foot therefore car is advised. There is a sandy beach, equipped with all the services at just 1 km from the villa.
Quercianella is part of the Etruscan Coast, that is a long coastal stretch (about 90 km), bordered to the north by Livorno and to the south by Piombino, whose name is due to the presence of the Etruscans, that lived here since the ninth century B.C.
One of the most significant evidence of this civilization is undoubtedly represented by Archaeological Park of Baratti and Populonia, extending out about 80 acres between Piombino and the Gulf of Baratti, where stood the ancient Etruscan town of Populonia. The park is a real open-air museum where you can see the traces of the steel industry and the commercial and cultural aspects (for example the Necropolis) of the Etruscan civilization.
A few km from the property you will find Castiglioncello, another seaside resort which has been an elite tourism destination for years. Heart of the Maremma, Castiglioncello boasts untouched nature, clean sea (awarded with the blue flag), nice beaches, coves and stunning cliffs on a sheer drop to the sea.
For sea lovers, in addition to Castiglioncello, there are several seaside resorts along the Etruscan Coast: Marina di Castagneto Carducci, Donoratico, San Vincenzo, Marina di Bibbona, Rosignano Marittima, Cecina.
For those seeking to relax and wellness, it is advisable to go to the Terme del Calidario and to the Terme of Venturina, equipped with its own natural spring at 36°.
Lastly, only a half hour drive from the villa, there is a small and ancient village of Bolgheri, the childhood country of Giosuè Carducci. To get to Bolgheri, you need to walk along the picturesque Avenue of Cypress trees, almost 5 km long, made famous by the poetry of Carducci in his poem "In front of San Guido" (1874).
Bolgheri is also the producing country of one of the best wines in the world, the Sassicaia.
