The provincial region of Florence is very varied, rich with mountains and walls. North of the capital is the Mugello area (site of the auto racing circuits) with its vast forests, where the Apennines stand in addition to the Morello and the Giovi mountains. To the south, the Valdarno valley then extends towards Arezzo, to the famous hills of the Chianti, until Siena. Immersed in this splendid countryside are the characteristic towns Greve in Chianti, San Gimignano, and Montalcino, famous for their distinctive architecture and wine production. The villas, castles, and farmhouses dotted along the hills and at the foot of every valley, create a territory famous for its art, history, and beauty.
