His sculptural style, which incorporates natural materials and forms, encourages a seamless flow between structures and their surrounding landscape. Villa Prince is indeed a Couëlle masterpiece of art: curves, vaulted ceilings, twisted juniper beams, peculiar niches and many elaborated details were built by hand-picked excellent local artisans, utilising special and rare materials. Stone colours, derived by the use of several local stones in different tones from beige to brown blend subtly with the green of the plants and gardens and the blues of sky and sea.
