Built in the 17th century and completely restored, Villa Il Borgo Siciliano is a splendid villa as a typical Sicilian masseria, and a cluster of surrounding outbuildings give it the look of a small countryside village.
The villa, which is accessed by crossing an entrance gate and walking along a road of about 500 m, is located inside a vast estate of over 100 hectares, partly cultivated with citrus and olive trees and partly left to natural pasture. From here there is a magnificent view over the top of Mount Etna and the Mediterranean Sea.
The large park, in which some archaeological ruins were found, includes a formal Italian garden, small woods, Mediterranean plants and trees, and a stream flowing into a valley below the villa. Perfect place for a walk, a bycicle or horseback riding (on request).
At guests disposal' a swimming pool (19 x 8 m), surrounded by a garden-solarium, the wellness area buildings (sauna and Turkish bath) and the dependance.
Lastly, within the estate there is a small church, an oil farm and a breeding of horses.
The villa consists of a main building and a separated dependance. It can accommodate up to 24 people, and has 12 double bedrooms (all convertible into twins one) and 17 bathrooms (including 12 ensuite).
Main building: An arched entrance leads into the main courtyard flanked on the right by the owners’ house and on the left by ten bedrooms, each with its own entrance, and each decorated with great taste and simplicity. All the rooms have independent access from the courtyard and are equipped with ensuite bathroom, hairdryer, television and refrigerator.
Then there are some living rooms (furnished with sofas, armchairs and fireplace) and a library with television and stereo.
The dining room is very spacious and bright, with a table for 14 people, whereas the kitchen is fully equipped (with dishwasher, oven, microwave). Lastly, there are five bathrooms in the common area.
Dependance: The dependence, with separate entrance, is located in the pool area, and consists of two double bedrooms and two ensuite bathrooms. Outside there is a dining area with summer kitchen and barbecue, for pleasant alfresco meals.
Included free Wi-Fi and air conditioning throughout the villa.
Villa Il Borgo Siciliano is a beautiful villa with dependance and swimming pool, completely renovated and surrounded by a large park. Ideal for families or large groups of friends wishing to spend an unforgettable holiday in Sicily, midway between Catania and Siracusa and a few km from the sea.

Villa Il Borgo Siciliano is located in a central position, between Catania and Siracusa, a few km from the small village of Brucoli and about 4 km from the nearest beach (Agnone Bagni). Perfect starting poit to visit the South-East area of Sicily.
The name "Siracusa" comes from the Siculo (an ancient Sicilian tribe) word "Syraka", meaning "abundance of water" for the numbers of springs and rivers in the area. In the Greek era it was also known as "Pentàpoli", and was one of the largest cities in the Mediterranean, consisting of: Ortigia, Acradina, Neàpoli, Tiche ed Epipoli.
In 2005, together with the cave necropolis of Pantalica, Syracuse was declared by UNESCO to be a World Heritage Site.
The city developed in part on the promontory-island of Ortigia, and in part on the mainland. The island of Ortigia, now linked to the mainland by a short bridge, was the first part of Syracuse to be settled, and is today a jewel of Sicilian Baroque, though also retaining fascinating traces of its ancient Greek and medieval past.
The most interesting area on the mainland is the archeological zone, including one of the largest Greek theatres in Italy, whose excellent acoustics you will experience if you manage to attend the annual season of ancient Greek drama. For all these reasons, Syracuse is somewhere that no visitor to Sicily should miss.
In addition, the incredible Baroque towns of the Val di Noto (also with UNESCO world heritage status) are within easy day-trip distance, while just down the coast is another captivating nature reserve, Riserva di Vendicari.
Syracuse (40 km), Catania (51 km), Riserva di Vendicari (71 km), Messina (147 km), Palermo (244 km).
