The Duomo neighbourhood offers an array of beautiful historical buildings and superb piazzas including the Mercato di San Lorenzo, the Piazza del Duomo and Piazza della Repubblica, famous for its attractive cafes, patisserie shops, live music, street performers, and caricature artists. Parking:
The Florence city centre is a ZTL zone which means a “limited traffic zone” and therefore special rules apply to when you can enter this area. This particular apartment is in fact located within the ZTL zone so this means that if you are thinking of coming to Florence by car and wish to drive around and park, then you will need to pay special attention to the road signs, CCTV cameras and access cameras (they will show either a red /green light) in order to avoid receiving fines. Guests who need to travel within the ZTL zone by car to reach their apartment are advised to contact one of the private garages in the centre (the one nearest the apartment you are staying in) and obtain a temporary access permit. Upon arrival at the garage, guests must specify their need for access in the ZTL and the garage will then note the vehicle’s number plate and forward it to the appropriate police headquarters.

Reviews

  • 4.3/5 "Overall, this apartment was great. For those not familiar with Florence, the location is excellent; it is about a five minute walk to the primary sights in the city center. It is maybe a 10 minute walk to a nearby grocery store, and 10 minutes to the main train station. The initial rental process was completely straightforward. The web sites used buy Windows On Italy were well designed and seemed to work just fine. When we got there, the check-in process was painless. Our contact was friendly, on time (in fact, he met us quite early in the day), and spoke more-than-sufficient English. There is not too much to say about the property in general. It is pretty much just as advertised. As n American, I found it neat to stay in such an old building. I was also mesmerized by the high-security door, which appeared to be a vestige of an earlier time, as I saw nothing in the neighborhood that would warrant such high security. The apartment was very clean when we got there. The refrigerator was great, and all of the kitchen appliances worked as expected. Also, the kitchen was well stocked with basic tools for home food preparation. The bathrooms were well designed and well executed. I was relegated to the sofa bed, which was a bit soft for me, but was actually quite comfortable for sleeping in the closed configuration. The WiFi worked flawlessly, and was fast. "
  • 4.1/5 This apartment is very comfortable and convenient. While we had some cool weather the week we were there, and as there is no heat after April 15 in Italy, we appreciated the extra blankets. The convenience of the apartment is excellent. The Ponte Vecchio is just a short walk away. We walked everywhere. The amenities, elevator, TV (Italian only), Washer and drying rack came in very handy, dishwasher, American style refrigerator, cookware, two bathrooms, and comfortable king-size bed were all appreciated.
