Marvellous apartment of about 55 on the 1st floor (no elevator, there are 45 steps) in a palace housed into a Medieval tower of the Old Town, next to Bologna central square. This is the perfect place to feel at the pulsing heart of Bologna.

The apartment is located in a period building part of a Medieval tower in Bologna city centre. On their way up to the first floor, the guests are greeted by two statues representing two men in contemplation.
The apartment has been fully renovated in January 2014 with the utmost care and attention to details.

The entrance hall breaks into the day area bathed in ample natural light coming from the large window; it is embellished by marvellous frescoes which add a refined touch to the high ceilings. The living room is furnished with two hand-made armchairs, a comfortable double sofa bed, a luxury desk dating back to the ‘30 and a cabinet for the flat screen TV.
The brand-new kitchen is open plan to the day area, and comes with induction plates and microwave oven with grill. There is also a white wooden table seating up to 4 people which is supposed to be folded away after lunch so as to save space and enjoy the living area at its full.

The bedroom is furnished with a wrought-iron double bed with plush duvets in white and green accents. The master bedroom is so large, that it also comprises a stunning bookcase with crystal shelves and an elegant custom-made wardrobe.
At the back of the walk-in closet there is the box room with the washing machine and a wide array of cleaning products.
The bathroom -equipped with a crystal shower stall- is fitted with marble mosaic tiles in gray accents.

The apartment is located right at the heart of Bologna city centre, in a palace built on a typical Medieval tower.
The apartment boasts a unique location, right beside Palazzo Fava, home to Bologna’s Museum of Medieval Art, the Exhibition Palace and the Carracci-Favi literary café.

In the vicinity are the main sights of the city centre, including the Accademia di Belle Arti, the famous Opera Theatre, the Jewish Ghetto, both Garisenda and Asinelli Towers (the Two Towers) -standing at less than 2 min on foot- and, of course, Piazza Maggiore.
Via dell’Indipendenza, the most famous shopping street in Bologna, is about 100 meters away. The network of alleyways next to Piazza Maggiore and centered on Via Pescherie Vecchie, which is filled to the brim with mouth-watering deli shops, stands right around the corner.

Public transport

On the nearby Via Indipendenza you can take the bus to Bologna fair and the railway station.

The apartment is located within the Limited Traffic Area (ZTL).

  • 5.0/5 Hi Anna, our experience was fantastic in every way. Via Manzoni is perfectly located and has a great old city feel, real historic authenticity with the fresco on the ceiling. Even sleeping four the space was generous and the apartment had everything you could need. We will definitely be back to Bologna and would try any of the Halldis apartments close to this part of the city. The Halldis team were so helpful with the one wrinkle we did have which was not to do with Halldis or the apartment. Very good communication and wholly reliable. We will spread the word. Bologna was the perfect Italian city break with the perfect accommodation to go with it.
