Finely furnished studio apartment located in Florence 's Oltrarno neighborhood, with breathtaking 360 degree views over the city's most famous monuments including the Duomo. This exquisite loft can sleep up to 2 people and has 1 bathroom.

The apartment is located on the second floor, with elevator to the second floor (then there is a small elevator that goes to the third floor - for just one person - and 20 more steps to climb) of a prestigious historical building on via Maggio, considered also one of the most prestigious buildings in the historical center of Florence. This stunning palace was built around 1470 by the famous Renaissance architect called Baccio d'Agnolo, also responsable for the building's impressive interior courtyard, adorned with beautiful porticos and marble statues. There is also doorman present in the building from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

This stunning loft (50 sq.mt / 538 sq.ft) is a spacious studio apartment and as the name suggests is located inside the most upper part of the building in what can be described as a tower.
It comprises an elegantly furnished bedroom and can accommodate up to 2 people. The bed is a double bed which can also be split into two singles (upon request).
There is a stunning living room with dining area that offers a breathtaking 360 degree view of all the historical monuments of Florence, nice bathroom with shower and a well-equipped kitchenette. The apartment is fully air conditioned with top quality flat screen television and full wifi internet access.
The photos of the views over Florence were taken from inside the apartment. The apartment is a real jem and has been meticulousy restored with quality fabrics and furniture.

This charming apartment is located right in the heart of Florence, less than 200 metres from via Tornabuoni, Ponte Vecchio and Palazzo Pitti.

Area
The apartment is located in the Oltrarno district in Florence’s historic city. The name “Oltrarno” literally means “beyond the Arno” and this district which stretches along the south bank of the river represents a different facet of Florence to that which is found near the Duomo. The Oltrarno perhaps displays the true character of Florence and in general is slightly quieter, greener and more relaxed than the other districts of Florence. Indeed many tourists tend to choose the Oltrarno for this reason.
Traditionally an artisans’ quarter, the Oltrarno still boasts today many lovely antique shops and artisans’ studios (particularly furniture and leather-workers) and Via Maggio remains the focus of Florence’s thriving antiques trade.
Over time the Oltrarno became a rather chic area and many aristocrats chose this neighbourhood to build their villas and palaces, the largest of these being the Pitti Palace, which became the home of the various Grand Dukes. Today this sumptuous palace houses several important museums which rank amongst the best in Florence.
Other major sights the Oltrarno has to offer are the Cappella Brancacci with the fabulous frescoes of Masaccio, Piazzale Michelangelo with its breath-taking views over Florence, the magnificent church of San Miniato, (one of the highest points in the city of Florence and also one of the best examples of Romanesque architecture within Tuscany) together with the most famous and oldest bridge in Florence, Ponte Vecchio, home to a glittering array of jewellery shops and goldsmiths.

Extending up the hill from the Pitti Palace are the formal Boboli Gardens, an outdoor museum of garden sculpture that includes Roman antiquities as well as 16th and 17th century works. The Oltrarno is famous for its wine bars such as Olio & Convivium, authentic trattorias serving typical Tuscan cuisine, including Il Santo Bevitore, I 4 Leoni and Il Magazzino, not to mention the wonderful fresh produce market held every morning in Piazza Santo Spirito. For those choosing an apartment in this area the Oltrarno quarter also offers a choice of grocery stores, patisserie, bakeries, gift shops and much more.

Parking
Florence city centre is a ZTL zone which means a “limited traffic zone” and therefore special rules apply to when you can enter this area. This particular apartment is in fact located within the ZTL zone so this means that if you are thinking of coming to Florence by car and wish to drive around and park, then you will need to pay special attention to the road signs, CCTV cameras and access cameras (they will show either a red/green light) in order to avoid receiving fines.
Guests who need to travel within the ZTL zone by car to reach their apartment are advised to contact one of the private garages in the centre (the one nearest the apartment you are staying in) and obtain a temporary access permit. Upon arrival at the garage, guests must specify they need access for the ZTL and the garage will then note the vehicle’s number plate and forward it to the appropriate police headquarters.

This property for rent is not a hotel, agritourism, B&B or similar, and therefore by law, extra services similar to those you may find in these types of accommodations, such as a reception, concierge or security, receiving mail, provision of meals and drinks, cleaning and change of linen during your stay, and amenity kits with soaps etc. are strictly prohibited.

Reviews

  • 4.1/5 We loved this apartment!!! Bettina was extremely helpful during the booking stage and always happy to answer any questions we had. On the day of our check in, Lourdes met us at the apartment and check in was very quick. She was really sweet and helpful!! The pictures are spot on!! The views are amazing!! The only thing that would make this place over the top is if it had a terrace. But the views are like no other, even with out the terrace. The bed is very comfortable and the apartment was very clean and comfortable over all! My husband is very picky and he LOVED this place!! We HIGHLY recommend staying here. It is kind of nice to be on the other side of the river as well. It is still a little touristy, but not nearly as much as the side with the museums, etc. Great Irish pub around the corner and great restaurants in the area. Short walk to attractions. To get to the apartment you take a two person elevator, then a one person elevator (really only one person can fit with a suitcase) and then take about 20 steps up. My husband didn't like the idea of the steps due to the size and weight of our luggage, but when we arrived at the top, he said it was well worth it!!
  • 4.9/5 This is a wonderful apartment with stunning views on all four sides. Have stayed in another apartment in the same building also and came here because that was so good. This did not disappoint. Same comfy bed and quality linens. Just about the best location to stay in Florence. I will be back!
