The apartment is located just outside the main historical centre of Florence within the area called Porta al Prato. This area of Florence is a 20-30 minute walk or a 5 minute tram or bus ride to the main cultural attractions such as the Uffizi Gallery, the Duomo, the Bargello Museum, Piazza della Signoria, and Palazzo Vecchio. The Porta al Prato area is mainly residential so there is a variety of grocery stores, bakeries, supermarkets, restaurants, bars, and cafes. In the area you will also find the Porta al Prato railway station (hourly train connections to Empoli), the “Stazione Leopolda,” Florence’s former railway station which has been converted into a vibrant exhibition hall used for events such as craft fairs, television and fashion shows, as well as cultural and business meetings. The Parco delle Cascine, Florence’s largest public park, popular with walkers, joggers, horse riders and families, is just 5 minutes away by foot.

The Florence city center is a ZTL zone which means a limited traffic zone and therefore special rules apply to entering this area. This particular apartment is not located within the ZTL which is an advantage, meaning that driving to the apartment and parking nearby is fairly easy. Near the apartment you will find adequate street parking, which you will pay for between approximately 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. When seeking street parking please note that you must park in the blue lined spots as the white lined ones are for resident permit use only. Parking costs vary within the city with the highest charges being found towards the centre of Florence. If you prefer, you can park in a private garage or choose one of the several underground parking garages.

  • 3.9/5 Belfiore is one of the loveliest--and certainly the best equipped and maintained--I've ever rented. The owners have thought of every detail and generously provide extras like packets of tissues and convenient snacks and drinks. The furnishings are exquisite, and the elegant decor and lovely ambience made me look forward to returning home every evening. The bed and bedroom are comfortable; the kitchen is ample and inviting. And the internet connection is fast and reliable. I would return in a heartbeat--and hope to do so within the near future. Grazie mille!
  • 4.9/5 Modern Belfiore 6 was an amazing apartment. Spacious, clean, well appointed. The rooms were large and modern, the bed very comfortable and loads of closet/drawer space. Air conditioning was perfect and there was a huge terrace which, regrettably, I did not get the chance to use. The place is near the train station and within a 15 minute walk to Florence central, yet just outside of all the crowds. Alessandro was very quick about meeting me at the apartment a little earlier than my scheduled time and very helpful in getting settled in. Very secure and safe apartment & location. The villa staff was incredibly helpful. I was there on business and ran into some issues so I called the villa offices and Anna Rostron saved the day, literally. Additionally, I accidentally locked myself out and Sara ran to my aid immediately and again saved the day. I can't say enough about the people that run this apartment. They are amazing. I'd stay here again without hesitation.
